We’re beginning a new series because we’re now in a section of Luke where Jesus begins to turn His disciples focus towards those who are “outside”, as in those who have not yet heard of Jesus or received Him as the Messiah. The disciples still have much to learn, as we all do… but disciples are not supposed to just focus on themselves… to be a follower of Jesus means to be a sharer of Jesus. Jesus is telling them that it’s time to let the light He has given them shine so that others can be seen and drawn to Him.
